The Trade Union of Public and State Administration of Macedonia (SADU) as a branch trade union of the employees in the public administration is a relatively new trade union on the Macedonian trade union stage. The trade union was founded on May 7 2008 by the following organizations: the Employment Agency of the Republic of Macedonia, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Macedonia, the State Statistical Office and the Penitentiary Prison – Bitola. It is registered in the Register of trade unions that is in charge by the line ministry under Serial No. 21.
In the meantime, a number of trade union organizations of employees in public, state and local authorities in the Republic of Macedonia joined SADU. The expansion with new trade union organizations and new members is constantly increasing.
At the moment, SADU counts over 3000 members employed in state and local authorities and other institutions (state and public officials employed in the ministries, penitentiary institutions, social work centers, the Register office, the Health Insurance Fund, the Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance, the Employment Agency, the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre, the Food and Veterinary Agency, the local self-government and other state bodies).
SADU is an independent, democratic and non-partisan organization of employees in the public sector in which they are becoming members in order to advocate, achieve, protect and promote their economic, social, labor, legal, professional, educational, cultural and other individual and collective interests.
SADU is an equal member of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia (KSS), the International Trade Union Organization, of Public Service International – PSI and the European Public Service Union – EPSU.
